BOLD-choice’s first-ever play was an original adaptation of Alice In Wonderland. As Alice and the Knave struggled to break free from the mixed-up world of nonstop nonsense in Wonderland, they learned a lesson about life and bullying.

In this BOLD version of the fairy tale, Belle discovered that there are many “beasts” we encounter throughout life: individuals that choose to be cruel to others, physical and social obstacles, and a lack of opportunity to create one’s own narrative.

BOLD-choice took on a bit of Shakespeare! Following Bard’s classic tale of star-crossed lovers loosely, BOLD-choice explored the issues of class, cliques, and peer pressure, but with a more hopeful ending.

Inspired by Roald Dahl’s classic novel, this version also told the story of a lonely young boy who is faced with the opportunity to trust in a little magic and take a risk to improve his situation, going on an adventure with a group of unlikely friends that each possessed a unique quality that helped him realize his own special worth.

This production told the story of the larger-than-life Paul Bunyan and how he navigated a world where he literally and figuratively did not fit in. The characters in the play included Paul’s loyal friend, Babe the Blue Ox, Paul’s parents and classmates, woodland characters, and the townsfolk that are changed by Paul’s unique gifts and struggles.

An intergalactic journey from planet to planet, this story sets out to discover unique ways of living and being; realizing what others may have to teach us and why evil space overloads want to desperately alienate others.

A stormy night…a mansion estate…the unveiling of a rare treasure…this play had all the makings of an old-fashioned mystery, discovering unlikely alliances and faces from the past, jealousy and accusations, ties that bind and some had already been broken.

A beautiful coming-of-age story, following Lily, a young person with a disability in the 1960s. The play followed along as the country and her identity grew, highlighting the complicated and painful history of division in the United States as well as the powerful movements that set the groundwork for change and inclusion.
